About Mounir Toub
Mounir Toub, better known as Chef Toub, is a Dutch-Moroccan chef, TV presenter, cookbook author, and culinary educator. He is known for his accessible Arabic dishes and his infectious passion for the kitchen.
The beginning
Born in 1978 as the middle child of three boys, Mounir grew up surrounded by the aromas and flavors of his mother's kitchen. At the age of 15, he began his culinary education. What started as a youthful fascination with Moroccan cuisine grew into a lifelong passion for bringing people together around food.
Professional career
Mounir worked with renowned star chefs such as Robert Kranenborg, Margo Reuten, and Eugène Swalen. For over 12 years, he taught at Summa College in Eindhoven, passing on his knowledge and passion to the next generation of chefs. His experience in both professional kitchens and education gives him a unique voice in the Dutch culinary world.
Television
Since 2011, Mounir has been featured on 24Kitchen, making Arabic cuisine accessible to a wide audience. From 2018, he has also been a regular face on Kook mee met MAX and Tijd voor MAX. With his warm personality and clear explanations, he inspires millions of viewers to try their hand at Arabic recipes.
Cookbooks
Mounir has written 6 cookbooks of his own and contributed to more than 10 others. From 'Lekker Arabisch' and 'Snel Arabisch' to 'Vega Arabisch' and 'Het Ramadan Kookboek' — his books are praised for their accessible recipes and beautiful stories about Arabic food culture.
Ambassador
As an SVH Ambassador for KAS & BAS, Mounir is committed to culinary education. He also regularly works with homeless people, cooking for and with this vulnerable group. Mounir believes that good food is a basic right and that cooking can connect people, regardless of background.
