Muhammara

Here I share an absolute favorite! Muhammara is easy to make and incredibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3 roasted red peppers
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 150 g walnuts
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Aleppo pepper or chili flakes
  • 75 g breadcrumbs
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Roast the peppers over an open flame or in a preheated oven at 200°C until charred.
  2. Place the peppers in a sealed plastic bag and let them steam for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the skin, seeds and stems from the peppers.
  4. Place all ingredients except the olive oil in a food processor.
  5. Pulse until a coarse paste forms.
  6. While running, drizzle in the olive oil in a thin stream.
  7. Season with salt to taste.
  8. Serve with flatbread or fresh vegetables.
